Pakistan has welcomed the recent limited ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine, which bars attacks on energy infrastructure and ensures safe navigation in the Black Sea. Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan during his weekly press briefing hailed for the US administration’s active role in brokering the agreement, and remains hopeful that this initial breakthrough will pave the way for a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire. “Pakistan’s position on the Ukraine conflict has been consistent. Pakistan has enjoyed friendly relations with both Russia and Ukraine. We have always advocated dialogue and diplomacy, immediate cessation of hostilities and peaceful resolution of this conflict,” the spokesman added.
