Hamas said it demands that the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement come into effect, rejecting any new, side deals with Israel. “What is required is to enter into the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has disavowed, not to establish new, side agreements,” the group’s spokesman Hazem Qassem said on Monday. He said that enforcing the agreement with all its phases “ensures its goals and the language of threat will not result in anything positive, but will complicate the matters”.
