The global charity for children has released a statement saying more than 590,000 kids are to receive polio vaccinations in Gaza, where “tens of thousands of children have missed routine immunizations” during 16 months of the Israeli war. Ahmad Alhendawi, Middle East regional director of Save the Children, said although this vaccination campaign is “a crucial step”, it is still “not enough” because thousands of children have missed out on essential vaccines, are malnourished and are living in dire conditions.
