At least three people were killed and at least 30 injured when the Israeli military opened fire on residents of south Lebanon’s border villages who were trying to return to their homes. On Sunday, a 60-day deadline for Israeli troops to withdraw from south Lebanon expired. But on Friday, the Israeli government signalled that it intended to stay because it said the terms of a ceasefire deal with Hezbollah had not been fully introduced. On Saturday, the Lebanese Army accused Israel of procrastinating in its withdrawal.
