Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah during a meeting on the Transgender Education Policy

The Sindh government has approved Pakistan’s first Transgender Education Policy draft, introducing a separate category for transgender children in school and college admissions.

Chaired by Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, the policy proposes job quotas for transgender teachers and aims to provide a supportive, anti-harassment environment. Awareness campaigns will follow the policy’s anticipated cabinet approval.
