US special envoy to Lebanon Amos Hochstein will visit Israel today to discuss a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, Israeli media has reported. Israel’s Kan public broadcaster reported the visit signals progress is being made with prospects of an agreement, claiming Washington said the envoy would only travel “when both sides are serious”. Israel contacted Washington last week and requested Mr Hochstein visit Israel after a recent trip to Beirut, Kan added.
