Four of Israel’s human rights groups have called on the international community to take urgent action to stop the government expelling hundreds of thousands of Gazans from the north of the Gaza Strip, warning that the world will be complicit in “liquidating” the area if it turns a blind eye. The statement comes as indications mount that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is considering a plan presented by hardline former military generals to displace hundreds of thousands from the north of the Gaza and trap anybody who does not leave, without vital supplies to survive.
