Almost 500,000 Lebanese have been displaced as a result of Israeli military offensives, Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib has said. He was speaking at an event organised by the Carnegie Foundation at the UN General Assembly in New York. About 110,000 people had already been displaced from southern Lebanon before this week, when Israel launched a massive aerial campaign against Hezbollah.
