US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday urged Israel to make “fundamental changes” in its operations in the occupied West Bank after the military acknowledged its fire probably killed an American-Turkish citizen activist there. US President Joe Biden later said he thought the killing of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, 26, was an “accident”. After an initially measured response to Ms Eygi’s death on Friday, pending an investigation, Mr Blinken said the US would raise it at senior levels with its key ally.
