A civil defense spokesman in Gaza said there is extensive damage to “infrastructure and residential area” in Gaza city’s Shujaiya area after the Israeli army announced the completion of a two-week operation there. “There is no house fit for life. The entire area has now become a ghost town and is not fit for life,” Mahmoud Bassal said in a statement on Telegram. “We are telling the world for the millionth time that the reality in the Gaza Strip is tragic and that there must be action from international and human rights institutions,” he added.
