Humanitarian assistance to Gaza cannot wait for a political solution or a ceasefire, King Abdullah II of Jordan said at an emergency humanitarian conference in the Dead Sea on Tuesday. The conference is attended by Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. The King also said that Jordan would continue its aid drops into Gaza and is considering the use of helicopters to deliver aid “in the short term and once there’s a ceasefire”.
