South African lawyer Adila Hassim was visibly emotional as she told the International Court of Justice of the suffering of children in Gaza. Ms Hassim took a moment to compose herself as she told judges that more than 14,000 children have been killed and thousands more injured and bereaved due to Israel’s offensive. Many are unaccompanied and nearly all of Gaza’s children have been “exposed to traumatic experiences” that will stay with them for life, she said.
