Israel issued a statement criticizing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan after Turkey halted trade between the two countries because of the war in Gaza. The Israeli Foreign Ministry announced that it would take steps to reduce “any economic relationship” between Turkey, the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, and Gaza. “We will not give in to Erdogan’s blackmail and threats. The Israeli economy is stronger than a dictator like Erdogan who violates agreements and works in the service of Hamas,” said Foreign Minister Israel Katz.
