Pope Francis called or an end to the conflict in Gaza. Addressing worshippers in St Peter’s Square, in Vatican City, the Pope expressed concerns over the effects of the conflict on children and called for the release of all hostages in Gaza. “Each day, I carry in my heart with pain the suffering of the populations in Palestine and Israel due to the ongoing hostilities, thousands of dead, injured, displaced,” Pope Francis said.
