Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for an end to the violence in Gaza and affirmed his unwavering support for the Palestinian people. “The establishment of the Palestinian state is the key to peace, tranquility, and economic development in our region,” Mr Erdogan said at the World Governments Summit in Dubai. Mr Erdogan said if Israel wanted lasting peace, “it must stop pursuing its expansionist ambitions and accept the existence of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders”.
