Tehran on Wednesday vowed to respond decisively to any attack on its territory or Iranian nationals abroad, following Israeli and US air strikes on Iran-backed groups in the Middle East. “If any party attacks Iran’s soil or its interests and nationals outside Iran’s borders, it will face a decisive and strong response,” state outlet IRNA reported Iran’s UN ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani as telling reporters. The envoy denied claims the US sent warnings to Iran over the escalation of conflict in the Middle East, and that Iran warned of an attack in response.
