The UAE’s deputy envoy to the UN called on Israel to do more to protect aid workers delivering life-saving assistance in the Gaza Strip. Speaking to the Security Council, Deputy Ambassador Mohamed Abushahab urged Israeli authorities to guarantee its complete functionality, including access for commercial cargo to enable the large-scale entry of aid. “The entry of aid alone is not enough. Aid workers must not have to pay the ultimate price to carry out their life-saving work. And those accessing the aid must be able to do so without fearing for their safety,” he told the council.
