Church leaders said that they were unaware of any evacuation warning issued for a hospital where about 500 people were killed on Tuesday evening. The church-run Al Ahli Arab Hospital received three evacuation warnings – on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, Archbishop Hosam Naoum said. “I am not aware of a warning on Tuesday,” he told reporters in Jerusalem. The church was a sanctuary for civilians and had welcomed 5,000 people seeking refuge from the northern Gaza Strip, the archbishop added.
