Von der Leyen meets Al Shara

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen met Syria’s President Ahmad Al Shara on the UNGA sidelines on Tuesday. Ms von der Leyen said in a post on X that the EU is “committed to increasing our political dialogue, meeting immediate humanitarian needs and supporting the socio-economic recovery and reconstruction of Syria”.
