Bryan Clark, a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, says Iran’s comments about pivoting to an “offensive” military posture mean it will attack targets in the Strait of Hormuz more aggressively to exert control and demonstrate to Washington that Tehran won’t back down. Until now, he noted, Iran has not attacked many ships in the strait, and traffic has also been low as shipping companies are wary of testing Tehran.
