The US, Qatar and Egypt urged Hamas and Israel in a joint statement to finalise an agreement “embodying the principles” for an end to the Gaza war outlined by US President Joe Biden. The statement said that the deal “serves a multitude of interests” and would bring “immediate relief” to people in Gaza and hostages being held there.
