US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza in a phone call, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a statement. The release of hostages and increase of flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza were also among the topics discussed, the statement said.
