US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza in a phone call, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a statement. The release of hostages and increase of flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza were also among the topics discussed, the statement said. This comes after Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz confirmed the resumption of indirect negotiations with Hamas in Doha towards a ceasefire.
