An American who had been detained in Syria has been freed from prison by rebels who overthrew president Bashar Al Assad. The rebels have released people held in prisons across the country.Travis, who did not give his last name, said he had been freed by Hayat Tahrir Al Sham and the Syrian Emergency Task Force. A member from the SETF accompanied him for his safety. He appeared in videos circulated online in which rebels said they were keeping him safe.
