The UN agency for Palestinian refugees – UNRWA – has welcomed hearings at the UN’s highest court into Israel’s legal obligations to help aid agencies in the occupied territories, calling for an end to an Israeli ban on UNRWA activities. “UNRWA and other agencies are present in the occupied Palestinian territory to address overwhelming needs,” UNRWA head Philippe Lazzarini said on X, adding that its services must continue unobstructed until there is a just and lasting solution to the plight of Palestine refugees.
