The UN’s relief agency for Palestinian refugees said it would not leave Rafah despite evacuation notices issued for 100,000 people in eastern parts of the city. “The agency will maintain a presence in Rafah as long as possible and will continue providing lifesaving aid to people,” the UNRWA said on X, warning that an Israeli offensive on the city would have “devastating consequences” for more than a million people.
