Palestinians in Gaza were facing “utter, deepening horror” as disease spreads, food was scarce and humanitarian aid was all but cut off, the UN’s human rights chief warned. Volker Turk said that some 1.9 million displaced Palestinians were being forced into smaller and smaller pockets of southern Gaza. The conditions were “overcrowded” and “unsanitary”, he added.
