The UK pledged $75 million to the loss and damage fund established on the opening day of the Cop28 climate conference. The announcement of the pledge was shared on the official Cop28 page on X, formerly known as Twitter. “The United Kingdom pledges $75 million to Loss and Damage to ensure the delivery of meaningful support for the world’s most vulnerable,” it stated. “We encourage leaders to raise ambition and unlock the crucial funding required to ensure a transformational Cop28,” it added.
