The UK and and Australia called for “an immediate cessation of fighting” in Gaza to allow aid to flow and hostages to be released, as part of efforts to secure a permanent, sustainable ceasefire. In a joint statement following a ministerial consultation meeting, the two countries urged Israel to allow humanitarian aid to reach Palestinians in Gaza. The UK and Australia repeated calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages and the protection of civilians.
