Dubai: On Monday, the United Arab Emirates’ senior national security adviser, Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met his Iranian peer and hardline President Ebrahim Raisi in an occasional visit to Iran. The move was aimed at confounding their long-standing discrepancies and improving cooperation. “Improving ties with the regional countries is my government’s priority, hence we welcome strengthening relations with the UAE,” Raisi told Sheikh Tahnoon, according to Iranian national television.
