The UAE won international backing for a new drive to support communities facing climate challenges in war zones and disaster-hit areas. Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Co-operation, launched the Cop28 Declaration on Relief, Recovery and Peace at the summit on Sunday. She said peace-building and climate should be at every Cop. A total of 70 countries had signed up to the pact, which involved hundreds of organisations in fragile states.
