Jared Kushner has called on Israel to do “more to help the Palestinians” if it wanted a sustainable peace. Mohamad Elmasry, a Middle East analyst and academic, told Al Jazeera it was important to “wait and see” what that call by Kushner will translate into as Trump’s administration is one of the most pro-Israel ones in US history. “Some of these comments being made by Kushner and even Witkoff to some extent, humanising the Palestinians, and talking about Hamas, by US standards, favourably, this is of note,” he said.
