After intense fights erupted between TLP protestors and law enforcement agencies at Chauburji Chowk on Friday night, two police officers and as many TLP members were murdered and dozens of others were injured.
The streets of Chauburji, Lower Mall, and the surrounding neighborhoods were converted into battlefields, with videos showing police firing teargas shells to disperse protesters, who in response hit officers with stones. When riot police attempted to disperse them, many TLP workers carrying clubs appeared to fight back.
