Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Friday said Tehran was seeking guarantees that Israel would end the war “forever”. Mr Pezeshkian said Iran has “always sought peace and tranquility” but that under the current context, the only way to end the war with Israel would be with its “unconditional cessation” of hostilities and a guarantee that they would end “forever”. “Otherwise, our responses to the enemy will be harsher and more regrettable,” he said in a post on X. The aerial conflict between Israel and Iran entered its second week on Friday, as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was set to meet European officials for talks in Geneva.
