On Monday, Sheikh Rasheed, interior minister of Pakistan, praised the Taliban’s desire to incorporate Afghanistan in CPEC and called it “encouraging”. The Taliban described China as their most important partner and hoped that it would help in rebuilding the war-ravaged country facing economic collapse and hunger. Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesperson, also said that they support china’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative that links china with other continents.
