Queen Elizabeth ‘deeply saddened’ by death of Japan’s Abe

London: On July 8, Britain's Queen Elizabeth said that she was “deeply saddened” by the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Friday. "My family and I were deeply saddened to hear the news of the sudden and tragic death of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe," said the 96-year-old monarch."I wish to convey my deepest sympathy and condolences to his family and to the people of Japan at this difficult time."

Queen Elizabeth tests positive for Covid-19

It emerged that the 95-year-old Queen Elizabeth II has tested positive for COVID and has “mild” symptoms. Buckingham Palace announced in a statement the 95-year-old British monarch would continue to perform light duties. “Buckingham Palace confirms that the queen has today tested positive for COVID,” the statement said. “Her Majesty is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms but expects to continue light duties at Windsor over the coming week. She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines,” it added.

Piers Morgan expresses deep concern for Queen Elizabeth

Piers Morgan, the former host of Good Morning Britain, has expressed his concern for Queen Elizabeth after Prince Charles was diagnosed with coronavirus. "Prince Charles testing positive for covid just 2 days after seeing the Queen is filling me with deep unease," he wrote on Twitter. Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth II's eldest son and heir, is undergoing isolation after testing positive for coronavirus for the second time, according to his office. A post on the prince's official Twitter feed claimed, "The Prince of Wales has tested positive for Covid-19 and is presently self-isolating."  

Queen Elizabeth cancels a pre-Christmas lunch

London: It emerged on Thursday, Queen Elizabeth has cancelled a pre-Christmas lunch with her family because of surging cases of COVID-19 in Britain. "The decision is a precautionary one as it is felt to put too many people's Christmas arrangements at risk if it went ahead, a Buckingham Palace source said. Britain's 95-year-old emperor spent majority of the pandemic at Windsor Castle to the west of London."

Queen Elizabeth skips Remembrance Day service due to back pain

London: Britain's Queen Elizabeth missed Sunday's Remembrance Day Service at the Cenotaph due to back pain. It occurred as the 95-year-old monarch had been in hospital last month and was ordered to avoid public engagements. A Buckingham Palace source revealed that sprain was unrelated to the unspecified ailment that caused the queen's hospital visit, terming it an "extremely awful coincidence".

Queen Elizabeth back home after spending a night in hospital 

For the first time in years, Britain's 95-year-old Queen Elizabeth spent the night in hospital for 'preliminary investigations,' but she was in high spirits and back at work at her Windsor Castle home on Thursday. On Wednesday, the world's oldest and longest-reigning monarch postponed an official visit to Northern Ireland. The queen's medical staff had advised her to rest, according to the palace, and her illness was unrelated to Covid-19.
