Syria state media reports that an agreement has been reached for a ceasefire in the Druze-majority city of Sweida in the south of the country. Sana news agency, quoting an Interior Ministry source, said the agreement involves setting up security checkpoints in the city and fully integrating it in the Syrian state. Druze religious leader Sheikh Yousef Jarbou said in a video broadcast by state media that a ceasefire agreement has been reached with the Syrian government in Sweida, which will take immediate effect.
