In a feat, Switzerland has created a world record by operating the longest passenger train on the planet. The world’s longest electric passenger train is designed to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the country’s first train system. This train ran in the Swiss Alps with 100 coaches. The record-breaking train was formed of 25 new “Capricorn” electric trains and 100 cars stretching more than 1.2 miles. The train traveled through a UNESCO World Heritage site in eastern Switzerland.
