US special envoy Steve Witkoff on Wednesday said he expected a Gaza “breakthrough” within days, after President Donald Trump presented a 21-point plan to Arab officials and other heads of state in New York. “The meeting was great,” Mr Witkoff told a panel discussion with US envoys Tom Barrack and Morgan Ortagus. The plan “addresses Israeli concerns as well as the concerns of the neighbours in the region, and we’re hopeful … I might say, even confident that in the coming days we’ll be able to announce some sort of breakthrough.”
