Sumberwuluh: It emerged on Sunday that almost 14 people had lost their lives and myriad are injured due to the eruption of Semeru volcano on Java island. According to Indonesia’s disaster agency, rescue teams have been searching for victims under the layers of ash, sometimes burrowing with their bare hands. The authorities reported that the eruption had destroyed buildings and broke a strategic bridge engaging two areas in the nearby district of Lumajang with the city of Malang, authorities said.
