Soon after ordering Karachi authorities to demolish the Nasla Tower, a building declared to have been built on encroached land along the Shahrah e Faisal, the Supreme Court of Pakistan summoned Sindh Information Minister Saeed Ghani over his opposition to the demolition of unlawfully constructed buildings.

When the court was considering a petition against a 16-story building in Bahadurabad, Saeed Ghani was summoned.

The justices took note of Ghani’s prior comments, in which he stated that he would resign from his government position but would not demolish buildings in response to a court ruling. Such demolition orders, he noted, frequently result in humanitarian crises.
