It emerged on Tuesday that Rohingya refugees from Myanmar would be suing Meta Platforms Inc, formerly known as Facebook, for $150 billion. The decision was taken in the backdrop of allegations that the social media group did not take action against anti-Rohingya hate speech that partook in violence. In a joint action, British lawyers also deferred a letter of notice to Facebook’s London office.
