US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that Putin’s decision to suspend Russia’s participation in the New START nuclear arms control treaty was “deeply irresponsible”. “The announcement by Russia that it’s suspending participation is deeply unfortunate and irresponsible,” Blinken told reporters. “We’ll be watching carefully to see what Russia actually does,” he said.
