According to foreign media, a demonstration erupted in India’s capital city on Thursday against the Indian state of Karnataka’s prohibition on headscarves in educational institutions.
A group of protesters gathered outside the Karnataka Bhawan in New Delhi around 3.30 p.m. on Thursday. College students from various student organisations were among the demonstrators. “We’ve come to gherao (surround) the Karnataka Bhawan over the state’s attempts to incite riots,” one demonstrator stated.On Friday morning, a massive fire erupted in Lala Musa, Landa Bazaar, destroying almost 200 stores.
