Vatican City: On Sunday, Pope Francis, talking about the tensions between the West and Russia over Ukraine, called for serious international talk to resolve conflicts and encouraged both sides to avoid an armed conflict. For his noon blessing at St. Peter’s Square, he addressed thousands of people that “Weapons are not the path to take. May this Christmas bring peace to Ukraine.”
