Polio vaccinations began in central Gaza on Sunday, with children receiving the first of two doses at health centres in Deir Al Balah. Vaccinations will be given at several health centres and displacement camps in northern and central Deir Al Balah from 6am to 2pm, according to the World Health Organisation, before moving south later this week. The UN aims to vaccinate at least 640,000 children against the disease, which re-emerged in the enclave last month for the first time in 25 years.
