Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) operated six flights to Skardu to boost tourism and it is one of its biggest operations for northern areas. Two flights from Karachi, four flights from Faisalabad, Sialkot, and Lahore, and a safari flight were operated. Besides this operation, two more flights from Islamabad to Gilgit Baltistan were also operated. CAA declared it a special operation for the promotion of tourism in Pakistan.
