Manila: It was reported on Dec 19 that at least 72 people had died in the central Philippine province of Bohol due to Typhoon Rai. The provincial governor proclaimed that the total number of fatalities across the country had risen to more than 100. This is the strongest tropical storm to hit the Philippines this year and displaced more than 400,000 people.
