On Tuesday, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the opposition bloc would move ahead with its plan to hold an “anti-inflation” long march to Islamabad on Pakistan Day. PDM has stuck to its point despite the government’s requests amidst surging Omicron cases. “The PDM will enter. They [the government] knew that we were staging a long march on that date. Under what conspiracy did they make such recommendations?” he replied when asked about security arrangements at the OIC meeting that day.
