Cricket Australia will be sure to do their due diligence before picking the next man to take over the role after losing their last two test captains due to charges of misconduct.
Tim Paine’s surprise resignation on Friday over sexually explicit text messages came after Steve Smith’s departure from the team’s leadership in the aftermath of the tampering controversy at Newlands in 2018.
“The board has accepted Tim’s resignation and will now work through a process with the national selection panel of identifying and appointing a new captain,” CA said in a statement.
