The fifth wave of COVID-19, which is driven by the Omicron variety, is rapidly spreading across Pakistan, according to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), which also recorded Pakistan’s highest daily infection rate in more than two months.

The NCOC acknowledged that the positivity rate in Karachi has climbed from 2% to 6% in the last three days, with the highest number of positive occurrences, while discussing epidemic curve chart data, the national vaccination plan, and illness prevalence across the country in a morning session on Monday.
